After his great videos (remember Tu which had the gorgeous Bipasha Basu?), Sonu Nigam has decided to go one step ahead, folks. He's actually getting into movies. And he's even going slow on his singing career for this reason. He's quit anchoring Sa Re Ga Ma on the idiot box and is cutting down on stage shows majorly, and plans to concentrate on his filmi carreer. Apparently, his debut vehicle will be made by the Tauranis of Tips. When news spread that another film Aakhon Hi Aakhon Mein was touted to be his first film, Sonu was quick to deny it. But he did admit that it was one of the nine (!) films he has already signed.
With that many films in the pipeline, he's certainly going to need to concentrate real good. Amidst all the hoopla, however, a cheeky bird couldn't help commenting that with actors taking to singing in hordes (well a little exaggeration should be excused), apparently singing sensations are left with no option but the take to acting! Now let's hope this new turn of events is more successful than the earlier one.
