Will the music industry's loss be Bollywood's gain? Ever since the ultra popular television music show host and playback pop singer Sonu Nigam quit Sa Re Ga Ma, the grape vine has been a buzz with the many reasons for him doing so.
One is that Sonu had left to pursue a career as a filmi hero. Now that he's very camera comfortable and experienced after shooting for his music videos. Then there was the added
incentive of working with the dare-to-bare-it-all Bipasha Basu who starred in his videos.
Bipasha and Sonu got to be more than just professional acquaintances and the girl is said to be suggesting him to her producers. The latest we've heard is that Sonu has achieved at
least part of what he set out to do. He's signed for a movie due to go on the floors in a couple of months. Sonu plays the main lead while the rest of the cast including the female lead is yet
to be finalised.
There are also rumors that he will be playing himself in a dramatised version of his life and this is more than just speculation. Given his fan following, Sonu's move will warm hearts. But the question is--can he act?
