cought Sonu Nigam on his cell phone as he was zooming through the city lanes and the singer sounded on the top of the world. Since stepping down from Sa Re Ga Me he's been flooded with film offers.
"I've had as many as 16 offers in 45 days," Sonu confessed. He's already given the nod to Akasdeep's Aankhon Hi Aankhon Mein and if the buzz is to be believed, he may also be doing a film with Tips.
There's talk that he's doing Shekhar Kapur's Pani too but Sonu insists he hasn't seen shekhar for while. Not since he offered me Ta Ra Rum Pum Pum and that was three years ago," informs the singer. Meanwhile, Sonu's also busy with several singing assignments.
"i've just recorded another song with rahman for shashilal nair's one tow ka four. After Pardes and Taal I'm very comfortable with Rahman. Not that I was ever in awe of him. Sonu's sudden "star" status has left music director Adesh Shrivastava astounded.
"I believe the guy has half a dozen film offers in his pocket!" he wondered aloud, adding, "It's not surprising really. Sonu's got a huge tan following of his own." Will we see Adesh on screen next? "No way!" he smiled, "I'm quite happy in a recording studio away from the arc lights."
