With his boyish good looks that translate into bags of fan mail, one would think pop singer Sonu Nigam, who was recently taken off his star-making show, TVS Sa Re Ga Ma, spends most of his waking hours surrounded by pretty young things. But it is far from so, insists Nigam.
While he doesn't deny the adulation he gets, he does rue the fact that he doesn't get time off from work to enjoy even a tenth of it. ``It's like chirag tale andhera. From a distance it seems as though I must be flooded by invitations from young women but actually 99 per cent of the time, all I am surrounded by is work. If it's not shows, it's travelling or television or my working out at the gym which I do regularly,'' says Nigam, who was in Pune recently for a show organised by the Maharashtra
Police to raise Rs 2.5 crore for welfare schemes. Coming to Pune after a whirlwind tour of Delhi, Calcutta, Bangalore, Jaipur, Surat, Bhopal and Assam, the Bijuria man set the stage on fire there too. All those romantic numbersand no time for romance. What was it they said about success having a price?
